1800s
Steamboat Era

Civil War
Civil War Significance
Jacksonport played a significant role during the Civil War as a strategic river port. It was the site of the formal surrender of Confederate forces in Arkansas in June 1865. The town served as the Jackson County seat from 1854 to 1892, a period that shaped much of its architectural and cultural legacy.
